GREEN-TO-CLEAN RESTORATION SERVICE DISCLOSURE & CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS
Green-to-Clean Restoration Service is a specialized recovery process designed to restore pools that are no longer in normal swimming condition. This service is intended for pools that are green, cloudy, discolored, foul-smelling, algae-infested, contaminated, or otherwise unsafe or unsuitable for swimming.
Unlike routine pool maintenance, Green-to-Clean restoration requires extensive labor, repeated treatments, significant chemical applications, and ongoing monitoring. The condition of every pool is different, and no two restorations are exactly alike.
WHY GREEN-TO-CLEAN SERVICES COST MORE
Most customers contact us after trying multiple chemical treatments on their own without success. While Green-to-Clean restoration can appear expensive initially, it is often far less costly than repeatedly purchasing chemicals, wasting water, replacing damaged equipment, or allowing the problem to worsen over time.
Our goal is to identify the underlying cause of the problem and restore the pool as quickly and efficiently as possible while minimizing unnecessary expense. In many cases, professional intervention early in the process can reduce both the total restoration time and overall cost.
Many pool owners are surprised by the amount of time, labor, and chemicals required to restore a neglected or severely degraded pool. In most cases, a pool did not become green or unsanitary overnight, and it cannot be restored overnight.
The restoration process often involves:
• Extensive debris removal
• Multiple vacuuming and cleaning sessions
• Brushing of pool surfaces
• Algae treatment and remediation
• Water testing and rebalancing
• Repeated chemical applications
• Filter cleaning and backwashing
• Ongoing monitoring of water progress
• Follow-up service visits
The initial restoration visit may require two (2) hours or more on-site. Follow-up visits commonly require up to ninety (90) minutes each.
Customers should understand that Green-to-Clean restoration is a process rather than a single service visit. Visible improvement may occur gradually over multiple treatments depending on the condition of the pool and its response to treatment.
MINIMUM SERVICE EXPECTATIONS
Green-to-Clean services typically require a minimum of four (4) intensive treatment visits. However, additional visits may be necessary depending on pool conditions.
Factors affecting recovery time include:
• Severity of algae growth
• Water chemistry condition
• Length of time the pool has been neglected
• Equipment performance and filtration effectiveness
• Weather conditions
• Presence of contaminants or excessive debris
• Water source quality
• Structural or circulation issues
Because these factors vary significantly from pool to pool, Crystal Water Pool Services cannot guarantee a specific completion date, number of visits, or final cost until restoration progress is observed.
TYPICAL RESTORATION TIMELINE
Most pools require between ten (10) days and four (4) weeks to return to normal swimming condition.
Some pools may recover more quickly, while severely neglected pools may require additional time, treatments, or corrective measures.
SERVICE FREQUENCY
Follow-up visits may be scheduled anywhere from every two (2) days to every seven (7) days, depending upon pool condition, treatment response, weather conditions, and customer participation.
CHEMICALS AND ADDITIONAL COSTS
All chemicals, specialty treatments, disposal fees, water replacement costs, and other materials required during the restoration process are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated in writing.
Chemical requirements cannot be accurately predicted before treatment begins. Pools in poor condition often require substantially more chemicals than routine maintenance pools.
PARTIAL DRAINS AND WATER REPLACEMENT
In certain situations, Crystal Water Pool Services may recommend a partial drain and refill to improve water quality and accelerate restoration.
Partial drains are not always necessary but may be required when excessive contaminants, high stabilizer levels, poor water chemistry, or severe degradation prevent normal treatment methods from being effective.
POOL STEPS, LADDERS, AND ENTRY SYSTEMS
When opening or restoring a pool that is green, cloudy, discolored, foul-smelling, algae-infested, contaminated, or otherwise deemed non-swimmable, Crystal Water Pool Services will not install removable pool steps, ladders, wedding-cake steps, entry systems, or similar accessories during the initial Green-to-Clean restoration process.
Algae, bacteria, and other contaminants can become trapped beneath, behind, inside, and around these structures, creating areas that are difficult or impossible to properly clean and sanitize while the pool is being restored. Installing such equipment too early may hinder the restoration process, contribute to recurring algae growth, and significantly increase the time, labor, chemicals, and cost required to return the pool to swimming condition.
Pool steps, ladders, and other removable entry systems will be installed only after Crystal Water Pool Services determines that the pool has reached a reasonably clean, clear, and swimmable condition. Installation of these items may require an additional service visit and may be subject to additional labor charges.
Customers who choose not to schedule a return visit for installation may install their own removable steps, ladders, or entry systems at their own discretion and responsibility after the pool has reached swimming condition.
Crystal Water Pool Services shall not be responsible for delays in restoration, recurring algae growth, water quality issues, or additional treatment requirements resulting from the premature installation of pool steps, ladders, or other removable accessories by the customer or any third party during the restoration process.
WEATHER, SAFETY, AND SCHEDULING CONTINGENCIES
Green-to-Clean Restoration Service is highly dependent upon weather conditions, water conditions, equipment operation, and safe access to the pool area.
For the safety of our technicians and the effectiveness of treatment applications, Crystal Water Pool Services reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, delay, or skip any scheduled restoration visit due to adverse weather conditions or unsafe working environments, including but not limited to:
• Lightning or thunderstorms
• Heavy rain
• High winds
• Flooding or standing water
• Extreme temperatures
• Unsafe pool deck conditions
• Limited visibility
• Equipment failures that prevent proper treatment
Customers acknowledge that weather-related delays may extend the overall restoration timeline. Crystal Water Pool Services shall not be responsible for delays in achieving swimmable water conditions when treatment schedules are affected by weather events, unsafe working conditions, power outages, equipment malfunctions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Heavy rainfall, storms, and extreme weather events may significantly impact water chemistry, algae growth, debris accumulation, and overall restoration progress, potentially requiring additional treatments, chemicals, labor, service visits, or extensions to the estimated restoration timeline.
When weather-related delays occur, service will be rescheduled at the earliest reasonable opportunity based upon technician availability, weather conditions, and route scheduling.
CUSTOMER PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
Successful pool restoration often requires active participation by the pool owner between service visits.
The customer may be required to:
• Empty skimmer baskets between visits
• Run pool equipment for specified durations
• Backwash filters when instructed
• Remove debris from the pool
• Add chemicals provided or recommended by Crystal Water Pool Services
• Report changes in water clarity, color, odor, or equipment operation
• Provide photographs or updates between service appointments
Failure to perform recommended between-visit tasks may delay restoration progress and increase the total cost of recovery.
NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS OR TIMELINE
While Crystal Water Pool Services utilizes industry-standard restoration methods, no guarantee is made regarding:
• The exact number of visits required
• The amount of chemicals needed
• The total cost of restoration
• The timeline for completion
Each pool responds differently to treatment, and unforeseen issues may arise during the restoration process.
OUR GOAL
Our objective is to provide realistic expectations from the beginning rather than promising a quick or inexpensive solution. We would rather prepare customers for the possibility of a longer restoration process and exceed expectations than provide unrealistic estimates that lead to disappointment.
Many pools recover faster and at a lower cost than initially anticipated. However, because every pool is unique, we provide estimates based on the more challenging end of the expected range whenever possible.
