INVISILIGHTS PERMANENT & SEMI-PERMANENT OUTDOOR LIGHTING INSTALLATION DISCLOSURE & CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS
Johnson Seasonal Services provides professional installation of InvisiLights permanent and semi-permanent outdoor lighting systems for residential and commercial properties.
InvisiLights are designed to provide customizable exterior lighting for architectural accent lighting, holidays, special events, security or pathway lighting, and other year-round applications.
This disclosure explains the scope of installation, customer responsibilities, system requirements, limitations, and expectations associated with InvisiLights installation.
Seasonal Christmas light installations that are installed, removed, and stored by Johnson Seasonal Services are governed by the separate Professional Christmas Light Installation Service Disclosure.
PERMANENT VS. SEMI-PERMANENT INSTALLATION
Johnson Seasonal Services offers both permanent and semi-permanent InvisiLights installations.
Permanent InvisiLights
Permanent installations are designed to integrate closely with the architecture of the home or building and may utilize mounting channels, fasteners, wiring, controllers, and other components intended to remain installed throughout the year.
Semi-Permanent InvisiLights
Semi-permanent installations provide similar programmable lighting capabilities while utilizing an installation method designed to allow greater flexibility for future adjustment, modification, or removal.
Semi-permanent does not necessarily mean temporary or seasonally removed. Unless specifically included in the customer's quote, annual removal, reinstallation, or storage is not included.
The installation method recommended for a property may depend upon the structure, roofline, soffits, fascia, siding, electrical access, customer preference, and other site conditions.

CUSTOM DESIGN
Each InvisiLights installation is designed for the individual property.
The customer's preferences, photographs, examples, and requested effects will be considered during design; however, field adjustments may be necessary because of structural conditions, measurements, electrical access, product configuration, mounting limitations, safety considerations, or other conditions discovered during installation.
Minor variations in spacing, alignment, visibility, brightness, and appearance may occur because of the architecture and physical characteristics of the property.
MOUNTING & PROPERTY SURFACES
Installation may require mounting channels, clips, fasteners, wiring, connectors, controllers, or other components to be attached to the structure.
Depending upon the installation method and property construction, attachment may require fastening into or onto soffits, fascia, trim, siding, masonry, wood, or other appropriate surfaces.
The customer must notify Johnson Seasonal Services before installation of any known:
-
Damaged or deteriorated soffits or fascia
-
Loose siding or trim
-
Roof or gutter problems
-
Water intrusion
-
Structural concerns
-
Recently installed or unusually sensitive exterior finishes
-
Concealed wiring, plumbing, or other known conditions that could affect installation
Johnson Seasonal Services is not responsible for pre-existing deterioration, hidden defects, or structural conditions that could not reasonably be identified before work begins.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
The property must have adequate, safe, and functioning electrical service appropriate for the proposed lighting system.
Unless specifically included in the approved quote, InvisiLights installation does not include:
-
Installation of new electrical circuits
-
Electrical panel modifications
-
Repair of defective electrical systems
-
Replacement of inadequate wiring
-
Electrical troubleshooting unrelated to the installed lighting system
-
Major electrical modifications to the property
If an electrical condition prevents installation or safe operation, additional work by an appropriately qualified electrical professional may be necessary before installation can continue.
Any additional electrical work is the customer's responsibility unless expressly included in writing.
WI-FI, MOBILE APP & SMART CONTROLS
Certain InvisiLights functions require compatible control equipment, a mobile device, application access, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, or other technology.
The customer is responsible for maintaining compatible internet service, Wi-Fi coverage, mobile devices, passwords, accounts, and other customer-controlled technology necessary to use connected features.
Johnson Seasonal Services may assist with initial system setup and orientation when included with installation.
Ongoing changes to the customer's internet provider, router, Wi-Fi network, mobile device, operating system, passwords, or third-party software may require the customer to reconnect or reconfigure the system.
Johnson Seasonal Services does not control third-party mobile applications, internet providers, cloud services, operating systems, or future software changes.
COLORS, EFFECTS & PROGRAMMING
InvisiLights systems may provide programmable colors, brightness levels, effects, schedules, zones, holiday scenes, and other features depending upon the installed equipment and software.
Actual colors may appear somewhat different from colors displayed on a phone, computer screen, photograph, advertisement, or other digital representation.
Visibility and perceived brightness may also vary based upon daylight, viewing distance, surrounding lighting, architecture, surface colors, landscaping, and environmental conditions.
CONTROLLERS & SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Controllers, power supplies, receivers, wiring, connectors, and other necessary system components will be located where Johnson Seasonal Services determines they can reasonably and safely support the installation while considering accessibility and appearance.
Some components and wiring may remain visible depending upon the installation type and property configuration.
Permanent installations are designed to minimize visible components whenever reasonably possible, but complete invisibility of all system components cannot be guaranteed on every structure.
EXISTING PROPERTY CONDITIONS
Johnson Seasonal Services is not responsible for pre-existing conditions including:
-
Damaged soffits
-
Deteriorated fascia
-
Loose siding or trim
-
Existing roof damage
-
Structural deterioration
-
Water intrusion
-
Defective electrical systems
-
Pest or animal damage
-
Hidden wiring or plumbing
-
Previous improper repairs
-
Other concealed or pre-existing defects
If a condition is discovered that prevents safe installation, work may be paused until the condition is corrected.
Additional trips or work resulting from such conditions may result in additional charges.
WEATHER & INSTALLATION SCHEDULING
Outdoor lighting installation is weather-dependent.
Rain, snow, ice, high winds, lightning, extreme temperatures, unsafe roof conditions, or other circumstances may require installation to be postponed or rescheduled.
Johnson Seasonal Services reserves the right to determine whether conditions allow work to be performed safely.
CHANGES AFTER INSTALLATION BEGINS
Pricing is based upon the approved design, measurements, materials, installation method, and site conditions reasonably known when the quote is prepared.
Customer-requested additions or changes may increase the price.
Examples include:
-
Additional rooflines
-
Additional zones
-
Additional landscaping
-
Additional controllers
-
Additional wiring
-
Changes to mounting methods
-
Changes to the original lighting design
-
Additional architectural areas
Significant changes should be approved before the additional work is performed.
MATERIAL OR SITE CONDITIONS DISCOVERED DURING INSTALLATION
Certain conditions cannot always be identified before installation begins.
If unexpected structural, electrical, access, material, or installation conditions are discovered, Johnson Seasonal Services will communicate with the customer when additional work or materials are necessary.
Additional work outside the approved scope may require an updated quote or additional charges.
MAINTENANCE & SERVICE AFTER INSTALLATION
InvisiLights installations are not covered by the unlimited seasonal maintenance program offered with Johnson Seasonal Services' seasonal Christmas light installations unless specifically stated in writing.
If an installed system later requires troubleshooting, adjustment, repair, component replacement, or other service, applicable service charges may apply.
Any manufacturer warranty applicable to specific InvisiLights components will be handled according to the applicable warranty terms.
Manufacturer warranty coverage, when applicable, does not automatically include Johnson Seasonal Services labor, travel, removal, reinstallation, diagnosis, or other service costs unless expressly stated in writing.

Customers should notify Johnson Seasonal Services before roofing, siding, gutter, soffit, fascia, painting, or other exterior work is performed in areas containing InvisiLights.
REMOVAL OR MODIFICATION
Removal, relocation, redesign, extension, or modification of an installed InvisiLights system is not included in the original installation unless expressly stated.
Because installation may involve mounting components to the structure, removal may leave mounting holes, marks, discoloration, differences in weathering, or other evidence of the previous installation.
Repair or refinishing of surfaces following removal is not included unless expressly agreed in writing.
Customers should contact Johnson Seasonal Services before another contractor modifies or removes any part of the system.
LANDSCAPING INSTALLATIONS
Lighting installed in landscaping, trees, pathways, or other ground-level locations is subject to environmental conditions and changes in the property.
Customers should notify lawn-care providers, landscapers, construction contractors, snow-removal providers, and other property-service providers of the location of installed lighting and wiring when applicable.
Damage caused by other contractors or property maintenance is not included in normal installation service.
WARRANTIES
Any specific workmanship warranty provided by Johnson Seasonal Services and any applicable manufacturer warranty should be identified in the customer's approved proposal, invoice, warranty documentation, or other written agreement.
No warranty should be interpreted to cover damage resulting from misuse, customer or third-party modifications, property defects, severe weather, electrical problems outside the installed system, or other excluded circumstances unless the applicable written warranty specifically provides such coverage.
DEPOSITS & PAYMENT
InvisiLights projects totaling more than $500 may require a 50% deposit before installation can be placed on the schedule and/or materials ordered or reserved.
Credit card payments of $500 or more may be subject to a 3% processing fee in accordance with the Johnson Seasonal Services Payment Policy and applicable project terms.
Final pricing, deposit requirements, and payment schedule will be stated in the customer's quote and applicable agreements.
LARGE PROJECT TERMS
When applicable, customers should also review the Johnson Seasonal Services Large Job Service Agreement & Project Terms.
